Filming & Photography

All you need to know about filming and photographic shoots at Shakespeare's family homes.

The five Shakespeare family homes and gardens are popular locations with photographers and film crews from across the world.  Whenever possible, we will accommodate filming and photographic shoots, within the constraints of the historic properties and public visiting times.

We also welcome filming in our world-class museum, library and archive collection, which can provide intriguing backdrops for documentaries and interviews. Our experts can offer informed comment and interviews about all things Shakespeare.

Any filming (interior and exterior) on Shakespeare Birthplace Trust property is charged. As an independent charity, income generated from facility fees helps us to maintain and preserve Shakespeare's legacy for future generations. Exceptions may be made for press photographers and news crews.

All filming and photography must be agreed in advance.  Filming inside the historic homes is usually only possible outside of public opening hours. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw permission to film or photograph the properties. Film crews must also provide evidence of sufficient public liability cover.

If you would like to arrange filming or photography at any of our sites, please complete our filming request form and return it to [email protected]. A minimum of 10 working days' notice is required to confirm a booking.
