Romeo and Juliet, true love?
Are Romeo and Juliet really the most romantic of all lovers? Or is their love more folly, infatuation and teenage angst?
Backyard Shakespeare (1)
Backyard Shakespeare is an incorporated non-profit youth theatre camp in Bolton, Connecticut, that began in 2003 as a summer project to acquaint young people with Shakespeare’s language and themes, and to introduce them to theatre and drama. The Backyard Shakespeare season is 3 and 1/2 weeks long, and covers all aspects of poetry and language, acting, voice, and rehearsals culminating in late August performances. In our 9th season now, the program has grown to include over 40 student actors ages 11 through 18, college internships in directing, and a directorship. Shakespeare plays are produced and memorized in their entirety, with performances done before live outdoor audiences.
Below is a partial profile I put together to produce these videos. It lets you see how the interviews started to take shape.
Backyard Shakespeare (1)Sorry, I thought that from this forum I would see a showcase of acting from Backyard Shakespeare in CT, not an actress interview. Good for Emily, but let us see her acting!
