Romeo and Juliet, true love?
Are Romeo and Juliet really the most romantic of all lovers? Or is their love more folly, infatuation and teenage angst?
My writing heavily influenced by Shakespeare
I read my first Shakespeare, (MacBeth), at the age of thirteen due to a school assignment in which we had to produce both an oral reading dramatized and written report at the end of the semester. I fell head over hills in love with Shakespeare and have never lost my interest or love of his work.
Last year I wrote an "Ode to Ophelia" as a challenge in an online poetry contest, and was amazed at how much he really influences my writing voice today, just as much as he did at thirteen.
Nice storyIts lovely to hear how people have been influence by Shakespeare - if you would like to share your story in a bit more detail (300 - 500 words) - why did you love Macbeth? How did you become a writer? you might consider writing a blog for us - for our Real Lives - Real Shakespeare series about how Shakespeare has influenced our lives - if you are interested get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
