February Half Term at Shakespeare's Family Homes
Family friendly activities throughout the school holidays!
14-22 February 2015
There's so much to see and do at Shakespeare's family homes during February half term! We've created extra special activities for one week only, so come and join in the fun from 14 - 21 February 2015.
Become an Apprentice Glover; 11am - 3pm
Design your own gloves in the same workshop that William’s father worked in. While you're here you will learn all about gloves, their meaning in Tudor society, the materials used to make them and the stinky process of tanning!
Perform the 'balcony scene' with Shakespeare Aloud! (14 Feb only)
Become part of one of Shakespeare's best known plays by taking on the role of Romeo or Juliet and acting opposite our own Shakespeare Aloud! actors.
Sweet Treats: Make and Fill Your Own Sweet Bag
Make a Tudor sweet bag and fill it with treats from our candy bar! Learn all the ways in which these small bags might have been used in Anne Hathaway's day.
From Anne Hathaway's With Love (14 & 15 Feb only)
Write your Valentines message to your sweetheart or loved one from one of the most romantic historic sites in England. Fill out one of our message cards, post it in our valentines mail box and we will post some of the most romantic on our social media pages.
Design and plant your own Herb Garden
Celebrate the holidays by planting your own herb garden just as Susanna and John Hall would have done when they lived here.
Valentine's Tree (14 Feb only)
Write a message to a loved one and hang it on the Valentine's tree in the parlour.
Create Your Own Finger Puppet
Make your own Jack-o-Lent puppet, traditionally created by children during the period of Lent (in the run-up to Easter).
*Normal admission applies, so these activities are free to valid ticket-holders!
