Heritage Open Days

Special behind the scenes access to our amazing archives

12-13 September 2015

  • General interest

Heritage Open Days celebrates England’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to places that usually charge an admission fee or are closed altogether to the public.

Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September

Come and see some of our favourite items from the world class library, archive and museum collections of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Meet our lovely staff to learn more about the range of work we do and find out how you can access our collections.

This informal drop-in event will give members of the public the opportunity to get close to early printed books, Shakespeare documents, early modern museum objects, theatre ephemera and items relating to the history of Stratford-upon-Avon and the Shakespeare properties. Many of these treasures are not normally on public view outside of exhibition cases, so don't miss your chance to go behind the scenes for Heritage Open Days!
