As the new Garden Café at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Shottery gets ready to open its doors, local residents and visitors from across the world are being invited to take part in a special Grand Opening event on Saturday 27 July.
Located opposite Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the new Garden Café promises to offer a serene space to refuel, relax and unwind with friends.
The new café also offers ample space and a great opportunity for local organisations and community groups to come together.
‘’We wanted to not only enhance the experience of visitors to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, with the chance to enjoy some British favourites like a cream tea and indulgent treats, but also give something back to the community.
‘’We hope that the new café will become a cherished spot for both local residents and visitors who want to catch up with their friends over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake or pop by during a walk with their dog.’’
Said Louise Greenall, Commercial Manager at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
At the grand opening, audiences can enjoy a host of free special activities, including colourful face painting for the little ones and live music by a steel pan band throughout the day in the garden café grounds.
There will also be interactive storytelling sessions featuring a magical retelling of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
As an extra special treat, organisers have announced a special launch offer, where customers can enjoy a complimentary slice of cake or a delicious sweet treat from their tray bake selection with every hot drink purchased. Vegan and gluten free options will be available.
‘’After weeks of preparation, we are now excited to share the Garden Café at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage with people.
‘’The opening marks an exciting new period of the food and beverage offer across the Shakespeare family homes. Our team has been working hard behind the scenes crafting a fresh menu that we hope will delight the tastebuds of our guests. With an updated look inside and out, thanks to our talented team, we can’t wait to welcome customers to our cosy café.’’
Added Louisa Stott, Head of Commercial at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
Open from 10am to 5pm throughout the week, the Garden Café offers a range of delicious locally sourced food, drinks, and snacks.
The thoughtful menu features items such as scones, pastries and ice cream. Alongside the delicious food options, the Garden Café also offers a range of refreshing drinks such as apple juice made using locally produced apples that are pressed and bottled at Warwickshire College in Pershore to hot chocolate and coffee.
