Text in Performance
A 90 minute illustrated seminar discussion for Theatre and Drama students focusing on the analysis and evaluation of Shakespeare's plays in performance
Please note: We are currently unable to deliver education sessions on site, but are working on an exciting range of digital and outreach sessions that can be discussed and booked upon enquiry.
Please contact us for further information or to sign up for email updates about our learning offer as it develops.
Let us know which play (and production) you are studying and we will help your students:
- appreciate how interpretative choices have influenced meanings created on stage in the past;
- understand how conventions, forms and techniques are used in drama to create meaning;
- use extracts to explore genre and form, structure, language and character construction;
- explore the importance of social, cultural and historical contexts.
Classes are illustrated with materials from our world-renowned library and archive, and can be booked for the time and date of your choice, Monday to Fridays between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm.
