Outreach Key Text Workshops

Can't bring your students to us? We can bring sessions to you!

Designed in response to travel costs and larger group sizes, our popular KS3 and 4 workshops bring the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust's expert actors and teachers into your school.

Fantastic in-depth knowledge of the play. Session leaders are extremely engaging and this has really encouraged and enthused my pupils.

— Teacher, Ousedale School

Key Text Workshops: Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and The Merchant of Venice

Mixing live performances of key scenes with interactive elements, character exploration, and a Q&A, the sessions are ideal either to help launch your pupils' study of the play or build on their in-depth knowledge for revision purposes.

Key themes include:

  • Understanding plot and narrative
  • Language and imagery
  • Character exploration
  • Historical context and contemporary relevance
  • Personal response- forming and elaborating on pupil ideas.

Sessions are 2 hours to allow groups to assemble and depart, but can be 90 minutes to suit the school timetable.

Up to two sessions per day and up to 120 pupils per session.

Cost: £450 plus travel for a half day or £700 plus travel for a full day.

Each booking includes a FREE resource pack with a range of additional classroom materials.

Contact [email protected] for more details or fill in our online booking form.

Why not augment the session with a half-price Connecting with Shakespeare digital session which includes a 20 minute video plus 40 minute live Q and A?

Great for revision, refreshing and developing the knowledge gained from a live visit!

The Connecting with Shakespeare session costs £150 – or just £75 when booked with a live outreach workshop.

The whole afternoon was absolutely wonderful. You were inspiring, entertaining and pitched the delivery at exactly the right level for our students.
