If your Christmas involves a little too much time indoors and you find yourself going stir crazy, we can recommend a healthy outlet for any pent up tension - living vicariously through some of Shakespeare's bloodiest characters.

In this extract from one of our popular educational sessions for English language learners, Lisa Peter gives an intro to the theme of violence in Shakespeare's plays. Including Macbeth, King Lear and Titus Andronicus, as well as offering some insight into why Shakespeare included so much gore in his work.

The video was first broadcast live on our Facebook page @ShakespeareBT
