We’re celebrating Christmas through the centuries in Stratford-upon-Avon this festive season, with a different theme at each of Shakespeare’s family homes. So there’s plenty to look out for until 6th January!
Shakespeare’s Birthplace offers an insight into the Tudor Christmas that Shakespeare himself would have experienced, while Harvard House reflects the style and taste of a wealthy Georgian merchant about town.
Anne Hathaway’s Cottage has been decorated in a style that Queen Victoria herself would be proud of, and features a rare opportunity to see the signature of Charles Dickens, inscribed in an early example of a visitor book in 1852.
Hall’s Croft is movingly decorated in the style of a house during WWI, including an opportunity for quiet contemplation at the Christmas tree tribute to Stratford men who fell during the First World War.
Don’t miss seeing Shakespeare’s family homes at their festive best, with extra family activities and seasonal treats available from our cafés throughout the school holidays. Visit our website to find out more!
