We have kicked off our summer of inspiration as we work with Heart of England Mencap on a wonderful photography project. Mencap’s customers will have full access to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the beautiful 500 year old property where Shakespeare courted his bride-to-be.
The budding photographers will take inspiration from different aspects of the cottage focusing on a different theme each week. Using accessible tablets, they will photograph the sculpture garden, the wonderful objects on display and the flowers in bloom.
Mencap’s vision is a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included. Everything they do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability as well as their families and carers and we are delighted to be working with them on this project.
The photography sessions will take place at the cottage every Tuesday over the next several weeks, after which we'll be exhibiting the photos at an outdoor exhibition at Anne Hathaway’s over the autumn period.
Don't forget to check out our online accessibility guide provided by DisabledGo for Anne Hathaway's Cottage, giving you the confidence to explore and capture the cottage too.
