In Shakespeare's time, all stylish Elizabethans held one firm conviction - the bigger your ruff, the better your day. Which is why it was such a joy to see the garden of Shakespeare's Birthplace brought alive on his 450th birthday by visitors like 11 year old Jacob Taylor, from Yardley Wood, who dropped in at our Tudor dressing up tent after visiting the house. It was great to talk to Jacob and his Mum who have come to see us many times before and love being part of history , "it's very special" said Jacob "thinking 450 years ago today Shakespeare was born here."
