After the success of the 2015 Fun Palace (at which no less a star than Stella Duffy, the Director of Fun Palaces, turned up and made merry) we’re delighted to be bringing back this incredible event for a second year!
This year’s Fun Palace will be held on Saturday 1st October at the Shakespeare Centre between 11am – 4pm.
It’s a day of FREE and FUN science and art activities for all ages. As well as plenty of Tudor history, plays and dancing, we’ll be re-enacting Early Modern biological warfare with jelly babies, learning all about bacteria, and there’ll be another cracking Mad Science show filled with explosions and dry ice.
Out on Henley Street there’ll be performances throughout the day by The Renaissance Dancers, Stagecoach and the Morris Men. The fun will continue inside where we’ll have dance classes, ruff and puppet making, a dressing-up section, plenty of plague activities, our famous Tudor hair braiding station and much, much more!
Fun Palaces is a nationwide celebration of science and art for all people, no matter what your age or experience. So come along and join in at our Shakespeare Fun Palace on Saturday 1st October and be part of the nationwide celebration of science and culture in the very heart of Shakespeare’s home town.
