William Shakespeare's Diary: 02/09/1573

Delve into the life of a young Shakespeare in this imagined journal entry written by the team at Mary Arden's Farm

Apples

Good Morrow!

It was an early start today.  Well before sunrise did the farm animals wake me, so I sat a while watching and listening to the maids downstairs. They are always so busy!

Ah! It looks like Mistress Martha is going to pick some fresh apples. Mmm, I am hungry and I do love apples.  Do you think she would notice if I pinched one?

OUCH!

She noticed.  She birched me for each one I took.  Maybe I should ask next time?

Fare thee well.
