Little Cures - Chelsea Porter
Meet the artist Chelsea Porter whose work forms part of our Little Cures exhibition
Chelsea Porter is a multimedia artist, often producing swift and expressive drawings in a digital format. She lives and works in London.
Chelsea creates with an intention for honesty. She aims to make you feel, relate and laugh. The typical 20-something-year-old’s thoughts are what interest her most. She wants to turn “I feel” into “we feel”. With simple lines and word-play, her basic problem could be yours.
Q: What drives you to make your work?
A: “A need to connect and relate to other people.”
Q: Has the lockdown and pandemic changed the way you work?
A: “Making my work has provided a sense of calm in this weird time. Producing my work has been a critical part to keeping me sane and has helped me learn to enjoy the indoors whilst also expressing how I feel day to day!”
Q: Do you think making artwork helps your Mental Health?
A: “YES! It's the only time I can sit and be present.”
