A Weekend of Celebrations

Experience a weekend of free, fabulous performances, hands-on activities and tonnes of fun as we celebrate the end of Shakespeare Week 2025 in style

This year we are taking over Henley Street and have lots to keep you entertained all day long. From live performances and face painting to hands on activities to arts and crafts workshops.

Saturday 29 March & Sunday 30 March, 10 - 4pm

Events from History will be leaving the Birthplace Garden for 1 weekend only and performing a unique 20 min performance inspired by Shakespeare’s most fearsome women: 'Lady Macbeth'.

Other activities include

  • Have your face painted like one of the Shakespeare’s mischievous magical friends from the forest of Arden.
  • Design and make your own accessories for your chosen Shakespearean character using reclaimed materials. Will you make a wand for Titania or a staff for Prospero?
  • Create your own puppets to retell one Shakespeare’s wonderful stories.
  • Finally, strike a pose in the photo booth to show off your make and take creations.

All activities are suitable for all ages and are free to take part in.
